More Valentine's Day Fun

These pictures are in a random order and so is my story. The orchid Brandon got me for Valentine's Day. For our date instead of the typical date we thought we might do, we went to Macy's and Kohl's. We bought Brandon some new work clothes, a wallet and we got some new bedding. Now Brandon has snazzy clothes for work and we have an actual quilt that fits our cal-king bed. It made us all (including Ethan and Sophie) sleep like babies. We all woke up at 11:05 to prove the bedding was nice. Late for church.
Brandon and I both had fun spending time together with just the two of us. We got some great deals since almost everything was 50 to 80% off. That always makes me happy.
For dinner instead of going out to eat I decided to make a nice dinner and invite my friend over to join us for what she calls Single Awareness Day. I made a nice salad, lasagna, french bread, and pink lemonade. For dessert I came up with a recipe on a whim. Wanted to use up the rest of the ricotta cheese and make it Italian themed dessert. So I sweetened the ricotta with powder sugar. Had wonton wrappers and filled them with what is kind of like the filling in cannoli's. Fried them and garnished with whipped topping and strawberry sauce, though I had mine with strawberry preserves instead. I loved the dessert and I don't really care for ricotta. I'll definitely make these again. After the nice dinner we left for our date while our friend Isadora watched the kids. We thought about a movie but everyone does that on Valentine's Day. The lines proved it as we drove past the theater's. Shopping together was more fun then we thought it would be. We both had a good time.
The kids got there Valentine's Day cards in the mail, from Grandma Markey. Sophie loves the bear and she carries it around with her making it hug her. Izzy also made us a Valentine's Day card (Brandon at first made me think he made it.) Almost cried for a moment (little stinker.) She also made marshmallows on a stick dipped in chocolate with different toppings, almonds, peanuts, and coconut. The kids really enjoyed them as did I:) Thanks Grandma Markey and Grandpa Ken for the cards and thanks Izzy for the handmade card and yummy treats. We are really lucky to have such a great babysitter.
