Halloween Party

We went to the church's Halloween party the other day. It was nice. They had a chili cook off and I wished I would of known earlier because I would of made the white chicken chili. Yummy. It was fun. We sat with Alexandra and her family who are the sweetest people ever. They have watched our kids a couple times.
Sophie was a cute little kitty, since she loves meowing and acting like a cat all the time. I thought it would be perfect for her, but she hated wearing her ears and tail. They also did a Halloween costume contest with a 0-5 years of the scariest costume, the cutest, and the most original. Yeah, Ethan won most original. No one wants to be an octagon for Halloween or a stop sign for that matter. No one except Ethan.

Sophie eating her candy.
Brandon wore his AC/DC shirt and because he did we found out that Alexandra and her family are fans as well. Pretty cool.

I look sleepy here. Bad picture but Sophie looks so cute.

Ethan with his award.
Here he is doing his one eyed look.
And again the one eyed, eating candy look. Ethan dug right into his candy. Sophie liked it as well but once she had a piece of candy in her bucket she didn't want to get more. She just wanted to eat it right then. I think all kids that age are that way. She now wakes up in the morning and that's the first thing she asks for besides "Where's Daddy?"
Ethan's stop sign is pretty cool. Made with cardboard, paint and paper. It's a cool "going green" costume. I did make it like a sandwich board like Ricki suggested, so the back side is the same as the front. Now all it needs is reflecting tape and he is good to go. I'll take better pictures on Halloween. I think his costume is pretty ironic for him since he is always go, go, go.

Ethan doesn't mind pictures too much, but for some reason he feels like he needs to close one eye and squint like that. He poses like that. Funny guy.

I love dressing up but I couldn't think of a costume to wear or what to dress up as. Like I said last year, "maybe next year." I wanted Brandon to be a greaser when he had his long hair and I would dress up like the 50's. But Brandon spoiled that idea by buzzing his head. I kind of go by Brandon's hair. When he had it really long I wanted to dress up as pirates. Didn't have any ideas for his buzzed hair.

What are you and John going to dress up as?

Thanks Ricki it was fun making what they wanted to be this year instead of just putting him in a costume I thought was cute. It means he's getting older.

i don't think we have any reason to dress up yet. If we were going to a party we would, but we don't have any friends lol.

When we have kids we will all go trick or treating though. But as for now, there's no use to, and no one really comes to our door. Plus my baby shower is the next day so i gotta get my beauty rest lol.

my sister sarah will be here though so we may go out to dinner.

I hope your shower goes well Samantha. Wish I could be there. I understand about the dressing up thing we don't have any friends either.lol. Who knows if we'll have any trick or treaters either. That whole bag of Costco candy might just be all ours. You should dress up in costumes for dinner;)

I'll dress up BC. Do you have any ideas?

Thanks Sherece it was Ethan's idea to be an octagon and I the only octagon that I could think of was a stop sign. Plus I thought it would be perfect for trick or treating. It was a really big hit on Halloween night.
