I'm Going to the Gym!
Granny this post is for you. By the way thank you for all the times you watched Ethan while I went to the gym. Today was my first day at the gym. It's been... well, when I first found out I was pregnant with Sophie is the last time I went, so almost 2 years. Here in Alhambra there are no 24 hour Fitnesses around, if any gym, which means we cancelled our membership. But we started a new one with an LA Fitness that was just recently built and finished. It opened the week we went on vacation. This gym is nice because it is so close to Brandon's work and becasue our membership includes free child care for 2. But even with the worry of the kids and how they were going to be in the child care, and the fact I still have a fat, swollen ankle (from a fall last Monday,) I still went. I was able to slip away from the kids pretty easy. Ethan took off playing and so did Sophie, whom I waved good-bye to. I had a great work out, mainly did legs. You know calf raises, squats, and of course a half hour of cardio. After sweating a ton, (I forgot to bring a towel) I went to pick up the kids. Ethan ran up just as sweaty as me so I knew he had a good time running around. Sophie on the other hand didn't cry, but stood in one spot the entire time. The girls who were in there were nice and asked me what Ethan's name was. They had asked Ethan but they thought he kept saying Jesus so they called him Jesus. Pretty funny. After I juggled the kids I needed to get my parking ticket validated. So while I was trying to do that and hold on to both kids Ethan got loose and said he wanted to go swimming. This gym has a pool that is visable to the street as well as the gym so I'm not sure if I'm ever going to use it. Ethan then saw the stairs on the opposite side of the gym and bolted for them, saying "I wanna go on the stairs." So of course I run after with Sophie in my arms and caught him before he got to the stairs. (Thank goodness.) I'm pretty much beat. Keeping up with the kids is my everyday work out. They'll get me in shape soon enough. Now I need to keep it up. So tomorrow I plan on going again even though my legs are already killing me and I know they're going to hurt even worse tomorrow when I wake up. I just got to do it.
After the gym I needed to get a few things from the grocery store which is next to a Pets Smart, Party City, and Toys'R'Us. So we looked at the animals before we went shopping. As we pass by Party City Ethan of course throws a small fit, when we passed by "the balloons Mommy." Then he throws another small fit when we pass the "trains and Thomas train." Again I was pretty much beat and wanted to just get home in time to see Brandon on his lunch break. So did a quick grocery shopping having Ethan count the produce we get and then head home.
There, I then make salsa for lunch and then add a couple of posts on the blog. After that I clean the bathroom and then clean the kids room. I organize Sophia's clothes putting the clothes she's out grown away. After that I make dinner, give the kids a bath, watch Jeopardy on the DVR with Brandon and then put Sophie to sleep. I then decided to make another post about my day. By the way Brandon did the dishes tonight (Thanks honey:) He also helped get the kids ready for bed (like usual, Thanks again love) and he puts Ethan to sleep I hope. Though I know Brandon's asleep on the rocker (like usual). Ethan and Brandon always put each other to sleep. So I'm going to bed to start another crazy busy day again. Good Night.

good job Brianne-you have the will power to keep it up, and balance your homelife too. You should keep a journal on your blog of your progress in measurements, calorie intake/burned etc. It would give you even more motivation- and then post regular pictures so we can all see the difference and encourage you even more! (i will need you to return the favor for me when I am no longer pregnant lol..but i will hopefully have the added help burning calories through breastfeeding lol)

Thanks Sherece and Samantha I think my struggle was I have the desire but was unable to with the kids. The gym is nice for that and they love playing in the child care play place. So I'll get my old size back soon enough. Also I don't like dieting and I love food. I would rather excersice a ton and eat whatever I want then to excercise a little or not at all and diet. Excersizing also just makes me eat healthier without doing much. I just kind of shift into that gear. This week I've just focused on my legs and I already notice a change. I just might blog about it or start a blog like you Sherece. I'll see.

Awesome Brianne! Good for you. Although it sounds like you already have plenty of movement in your life. I was filling out a health profile for my physical exam coming up and there was a rating for how much exercise you get everyday. On the rating it said daily duties like child care and housework were minimal effort. Ha! Whoever wrote that obviously never had children or cleaned a house. :)
