Watercolors by Ethan and Sophia Wyatt
Ethan asked to paint this day and of course I couldn't say No. He loves painting, not so much coloring. Sophie likes it all, she loves her colors. Their medium: watercolors. Their canvas: trashed plans that Daddy brings home for just this reason. I actually like the kids to paint rather then color since when they color, Sophie especially, likes to lift her shirt and color her tummy and whatever else she likes. It's pretty funny when I get her ready for the bath and find her drawings on her. She acts really proud while she points to her art on her body. They also both like having crayon fights which is usually how coloring always ends up. No fun to clean up. Watercolors I have found are the way to go, for right now anyways. Until they are older and can advance up to different mediums (mainly Sophie.) I mean, spilled water is no big deal to clean up. They had fun as did DeeDee. I think their paintings turned out great. I love the picture of Ethan really studying his painting and deciding where he should paint. Maybe I should get some nice paper and let them do their work on that and then I can frame it and... Sounds good to me. Right now is just practice.

that's really cool. so many kids now-a-days don't have access to this kind of stuff. yours are really lucky to have a home where art is encouraged, it'll help them in cognitive processing and coordination skills. biggies for kindergarten! not to mention self expression which is never bad.

Nice paintings, guys! I like Deedee posing for her picture. We got sidewalk chalk and while Georgie mostly ate it the first time, we're going to keep trying!
